Graduation Ceremony October 2021
Save your place for the Graduation Ceremony!
Please register to be among the first to know when we set the date!
Due to uncertainty with covid-19 we may not be able to have in-person graduations as we would all like. We are committed to having a ceremony in October 2021 and will decide the format based on gathering size, travel restrictions and venue availability.
IHS have worked hard as a team to give you the best possible start as a NT and will continue to support you in your career. Potential NT students have a growing number of colleges to choose from of varying standards and really appreciate testimonials to help them make their decision. If you enjoyed the course at IHS and appreciated the support you received whilst studying with us we would really appreciate you taking a few minutes now to let potential students know
The IHS Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach Network
We always love hearing from our graduates. If ever you just want to pick up the phone or drop us an email to let us know how you’re doing, or to ask a quick question, you are always welcome. If you’d like us to keep you updated, there are a couple of ways you can do that.
We are combing our Graduate Network Facebook Gropus into one IHS NLC Graduate Network Facebook group. This is a place for IHS graduates to share ideas, collaborate and build their network. IHS staff actively engage and are posting daily with food-for-thought, whether it be tips for your business, industry trends or just something for a bit of fun. We will be adding updates from IHS about new courses or events coming up, plus discount codes.
You may already be receiving our Wellness Digest, our monthly newsletter full of book reviews, recipes, graduate reviews and other great information each month. Now you are an IHS Nutritional Therapist you can join our newsletter especially for graduates.
Of course, we still have our usual social media channels that we keep up to date with our news and upcoming courses. While your starting your own Social Media Plan, you might want to share our posts as relevant content (don’t forget to add your own thoughts and show your expertise).
Let us Promote You
Once you are established, please send on your business contact details. We love promoting our graduates!
The handiest way to update us is to fill in this form, which will prompt you with all the key information we need. If you know what you want to say already, you can just email firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact us through social media.
We promote graduates through our website, on social media, in our newsletter. Our newsletter alone reaches over 4,000 people interested in health and wellbeing.
A new thing we’re working on is to promote our graduates in eBooks we are putting together for prospective students, or just for people who come to our website because they are interested in health. We are always working on a new eBook, so if you want to stand-out with an outstanding recipe and your picture and business details next to it, please submit a recipe.
Beyond Nutritional Therapy
The opportunities with IHS do not end with Nutritional Therapy. We get many enquiries from current students and graduates regarding what IHS can offer in terms of progression courses. The nature of the health and wellness industry is that life-long learning and continuous professional development are essential to keep up to date with the latest research.
You may be aware we also offer a Certificate in Health & Wellness Coaching, obviously, the details of this is on our website. We have created this course to help those already practicing in the Health & Wellness field to really hone their coaching skills and build rapport and accountability with their clients.
The world of nutrition and lifestyle is always changing, and there is always more to learn.
To help our graduates grow their knowledge we have a list of short courses that we continuously grow. These range from general interest to specifics like stress management or personalised sports nutrition. Many of these are recognised with NTOI for CPD points required each year.
You can register at learn.instituteofhealthsciences.com, with no obligation to sign up to any courses.
Telling People About Your Qualification
A question we get a lot from our graduates is what can they “officially” call themselves. We recommend our graduates call themselves Nutritional Therapists.
You can also use the letters Dip NT IHS after your name to express your qualification.
We always recommend you check regulation within your own country as there are often terms that can be regulated, for example the term Dietitian is regulated in many countries and linked to specific qualification.
We find that people who are looking for help in the area of nutrition and lifestyle, like to know about their potential practitioner’s qualification. Here are some things you might like to let people know:
- The IHS Diploma in Nutritional Therapy is academically certified and industry recognised. The material is externally scrutinised by Crossfields Institute.
- Tell them how you are keeping up-to-date with new research and material.
- People often look to cross-reference your qualification, and LinkedIn is a good place to do this. Include yourself in the IHS Alumni, edit your profile and add education. Search for Institute of Health Sciences as the school.
- Add a link to IHS on your webpage or facebook page – show your potential clients you worked hard for your qualification.
